The Bible teaches that hell exists: Matthew 5:22, 29, 30; 18:9; 23:33; 25:41 and 46; Luke 16:23; 2 Peter 2:4; and Revelation 20:13-15.
What does the Bible say about hell? Let’s see.
22 But I say to you that everyone who is angry with his brother shall be [a]guilty before the court; and whoever says to his brother, ‘[b]You good-for-nothing,’ shall be [c]guilty before [d]the supreme court; and whoever says, ‘You fool,’ shall be [e]guilty enough to go into the [f]fiery hell.
41 “Then He will also say to those on His left, ‘Depart from Me, accursed ones, into the eternal fire which has been prepared for the devil and his angels;
46 These will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”
23 In Hades he lifted up his eyes, being in torment, and *saw Abraham far away and Lazarus in his bosom.
4 For if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but cast them into hell and committed them to pits of darkness, reserved for judgment;
13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead which were in them; and they were judged, every one of them according to their deeds. 14 Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire. 15 And if [a]anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.
