Why I Write

Why all the Bible references in our articles?
It is not all that important what I think.  What really matters is what God tells us in His Word.  I aim to help everyone see what the Bible says — not what I think, not what some church thinks, not some religion.  So therefore most everything I write is supported by specific Bible references, linked to BibleGateway so you can verify it is Scriptural.

You can look it up yourself, you can read it for yourself – and see for yourself what the Bible itself actually says.  We don’t follow any mere human.  When we kneel at God’s feet, who will care what they think?  We don’t follow any religion.  What good is that?  We follow the “Godman”, Christ Jesus.

False teachers mislead by misquoting, pretending their words are God’s Words, or, by cherry-picking seemingly authoritative references, but OMGjesus is careful to let Scripture speak for itself.  We interpret Scripture with other Scripture, and stay in context, not quoting isolated verses, not grasping for showcase verses to “prove” our bent (just because we want it to bend that way).  Verses are interpreted by other passages, because God, the One and Only, will not contradict Himself.  God is not tolerant of our errors.

Why  I write to the unsaved: to point you to the narrow road that leads to the Truth, to Jesus, to freedom from enslavement to sin, to salvation in Christ — to be born again and accepted by Creator God who loved us all so much that He came to earth to make it possible for us to enter His Holy Kingdom.  Are you ready to meet your Maker?

Why I write to born-again believers: to exhort you, remind you, to “stir you up” to be “more diligent to make certain about His calling and choosing you” (2 Peter 1:verse 10), to examine yourself “that you be in the faith” (2 Corinthians 13:5; 1 Thessalonians 5:21), to help you not be “blind or short-sighted” (2 Peter 1:verse 9), to help you “be able to call these things to mind“, so that “as you practice these things, you will never stumble” — and “in this way the entrance into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will be abundantly supplied to you.“

2 Peter 1: verses 12-15
¹² Therefore, I will always be ready to remind you of these things, even though you already know them, and have been established in the truth which is present with you. ¹³ I consider it right, as long as I am in this earthly dwelling, to stir you up by way of reminder, ¹⁴ knowing that the laying aside of my earthly dwelling is imminent, as also our Lord Jesus Christ has made clear to me. ¹⁵ And I will also be diligent that at any time after my departure you will be able to call these things to mind.

There is a whole lot of “self” going on these days:  self-absorbed, self-aggrandizement, self-centered interpretation of the Bible, self-deception, self-pleasing beliefism.  I think the time has come where Scripture says “the time will come…!”   It’s happening.

2 Timothy 4: verses 3-4    Amplified Bible (AMP)
³ For the time will come when people will not tolerate sound doctrine and accurate instruction [that challenges them with God’s truth]; but wanting to have their ears tickled [with something pleasing], they will accumulate for themselves [many] teachers [one after another, chosen] to satisfy their own desires and to support the errors they hold, ⁴ and will turn their ears away from the truth and will wander off into myths and man-made fictions [and will accept the unacceptable].

You really want to merely support the errors of your thinking?  You truly want to reject what God is trying to communicate to you?  Do you want to follow God – or do you want to follow some stupididiotic man?  Wow.  Not me.  I want to accept only what is the Truth from God.  I want to accept what God accepts.  I want to reject what God calls unacceptable.

Why on earth would anyone want to follow a myth,  or some man-made religious fiction fiasco that goes nowhere good?

How dumb is that!  How dumb?  Eternally dumb, that’s how dumb. Don’t be a God damned dumb dumb.

Examine your faith.  Make sure it is sound, not full of error.  All religion is on the wide road to destruction.

I am not alarmed by few choosing the narrow way, and so many trudging along the wide road.  It is predicted. And now we see it happening.   But that is why we write OMGjesus: to share the Way, the Truth, and the Life – Jesus.

When I die, I’ll die forgiven.  Jesus saved me.  Are you living for Jesus?
