“And the Lord will watch over your coming and going
both now and forevermore”
– Psalm 121:8 NIV
God is not some far away, distant-from-you, dis-concerned bubble of energy, inside some aura of mist on a mysterious planet far far away in a different galaxy. Star Trek might lead one to believe that!
But the Bible says that Creator God created us to walk and talk with us, to commune with us, like He did with Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden (Genesis 3:8).
The Creator of all that is – really cares about us. He did not speak us into existence and then walk away! He has plans for us, great plans! He made those mysterious planets, but that same Creator shows us that He is right near.
If born again, you are His child and He is watching over us – active and one step ahead of us. If you have not been born again, then He is convicting you – giving you opportunities to choose Jesus!
God is one prayer away – ready to be intimately involved with us. Why live as if we’re all alone?
- He loves us intimately – enough to come to earth as a man – to die for our eternity!
- John 3:16… “For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.“
- He wants the best for us! He wants us to be totally jazzed about life! He gives us “a future and a hope.”
- Jeremiah 29:11
(NASB) “For I know the plans that I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope.”
(MSG) “I know what I’m doing. I have it all planned out—plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for.”
- Jeremiah 29:11
- He is not aloof. He knows our innermost thoughts!
You know when I sit down and when I rise up;
You understand my thought from afar.
3 You scrutinize my path and my lying down,
And are intimately acquainted with all my ways.
4 Even before there is a word on my tongue,
Behold, O Lord, You know it all.
– Psalm 139: verses 2-4See also: 1 Chronicles 28:9
- God watches over us. He protects us.
- Psalm 121:3 “He will not z let your foot be moved; he who a keeps you will not slumber.”
-
Psalm 121:7 “The Lord will a keep you from all evil; he will a keep your life.”
- God responds to our prayers. Pray-your-heart-out to Him. Don’t keep it all in. Share all your concerns with Him. Why not! We are not alone. God is with us.
- 1 Peter 5:7 (NLT) “Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.”
Jesus left the world saying,
27 “I am leaving you with a gift
—peace of mind and heart.
And the peace I give
is a gift
the world cannot give.
So
don’t be troubled or afraid.
– John 14: verse 27
Whenever I am…
concerned/made worried/heavy burdened/loaded down/
fearful/uncertain/feeling oppressed/
anxious/thinking about problems/
disturbed by something/feel attacked/feel alone/
conflicted/mentally and emotionally worn out/
uneasy in my soul/troubled/
not at peace in my inner soul
…I speak-it-out with God and ask Him to take the load and give me peace. I count on Him. I practice 1 Peter 5:7. I need not carry life alone. See also: 1 Chronicles 28:20
I am not just “me”. When I was born again – the Spirit of God took up residence in me, and ever since then… I am not just me, alone. I am never alone; never am, never will be. At all times I am indwelt by and accompanied by God Himself in the form of His Spirit in my soul. Boy am I confident – in Him! I have opened my eyes, as Jesus sent Paul to do…
18 to open their eyes,
so that they may turn
from darkness to light
and from the power of Satan
to God,
that they may receive forgiveness of sins
and a place among those
who are sanctified
by faith in me.’
– Acts 26:18
13 In Him, you also, after listening to the message of truth,
the gospel of your salvation
—having also believed,
you were sealed in Him with the Holy Spirit of promise
– Ephesians 1:13
accompanied by God Himself
Wow! Mysterious, but real. Jesus Himself said it, “And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate,[a] who will never leave you.” – John 14:16 (NLT) I believe Jesus! How about you?
that your body is a temple
of the Holy Spirit
who is in you,
whom you have from God,
and that you are not your own?

Ever since I was born again, it’s now “me, myself, and I — and God”!
…He Himself has said,
“I will never desert you,
nor will I ever forsake you”
